Prince Kennett (Melbourne)

Founder: Therapist

Hello! I’m Prince Kennett. I founded Redefine Counselling Services with the goal of helping people elevate their lives. I strongly believe that growth is realized by searching for a deeper understanding of ourselves and our relationships with others. This understanding gives us the ability to connect with others and express ourselves effectively. My therapeutic relationship with my clients strives to provide a safe space to explore, reconnect with themselves, and find their path once again.

While many practices focus on what is ‘wrong’ with a client and how to ‘fix’ them, I consciously choose to empower my clients to speak up, comprehend their individual unique strengths, learn and grow with intention, and give them the tools to be resilient and happier with themselves, which in turn makes them more confident in their lives and in their relationships with others. I believe that we all have the power to heal ourselves through practice. Our practice is a place for our clients to explore and actualize the facets of their life that give them meaning and purpose.

Do you seek to make peace with your past? I can guide you through the healing process.

Are you where you want to go in your life or are you struggling to find a direction? I can provide a space for you to explore what needs to change.

Do you feel weary of that baggage you drag around? I will help you unpack that baggage, facilitating a way to sort through it all, and then leave it behind if you wish to.

Do you just need a listening ear? I will make sure that you have been heard.

I promise to give you an affirming place to safely express yourself. A space without any judgement! You may talk about anything that is troubling you and I listen.

Together we will look at things from different perspectives, uncover and develop the answers to all your questions. In the process, you will build resilience and strength. Our time together is all about you, and your needs.

I am a registered counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association / Level 1. I currently also work as a Men’s Behaviour Change Program Facilitator at Relationship Australia Victoria (RAV). I have rich experience working as a Family Violence Practitioner at The Orange Door. My interest is in assisting people who battle dysfunction caused by psychological challenges including, trauma, depression, anxiety, complex family dynamics, eating disorders, sleep issues, anger and addiction. I work extensively with people from diverse cultural and social backgrounds, and I use an awareness, strengths-based, intersectional approach and trauma-informed approach to guide my practice.

Outside of work, I enjoy nature walks, learning from my inspiring daughter, writing, reading books, and watching documentaries.

I have translated Allen Carr’s Global bestseller ‘Easy Way to Control Alcohol’ into my native language, Tamil, as helping people overcome addiction is a cause that is dear to my heart.
